Better Ranch Manager ("we", "our", or "the app") is a cattle herd management application. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: When you create an account, we collect your name and email address through our authentication provider, Clerk. We use this to identify you and enable collaboration features like ranch invitations.

Ranch and animal data: You provide data about your ranches, herds, animals, medical events, birth records, sales, and feeding events. This is the core data you manage in the app.

Photos: You may upload photos of animals. Photos are stored securely on Cloudflare R2 and are only accessible to members of the ranch they belong to. Photos may include GPS coordinates if you choose to include them.

Push notification tokens: If you enable notifications, we store a device token to deliver alerts about calving events and watchlist updates.

Subscription information: If you subscribe to a paid plan, your purchase is processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). We receive subscription status updates through RevenueCat but do not have access to your payment method details (credit card numbers, bank accounts, etc.).

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and operate the app's herd management features
• To authenticate you and manage access to shared ranches
• To send push notifications you have opted into
• To manage your subscription tier and enforce usage limits
• To send invitation emails when you invite team members

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Cloudflare's global network (D1 database and R2 storage). Data is encrypted in transit via HTTPS. Authentication tokens are managed by Clerk and stored securely on your device using the platform's secure storage.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only with the following service providers that are necessary to operate the app:

• Clerk — authentication and user management
• Cloudflare — hosting, database, and image storage
• RevenueCat — subscription management
• Resend — transactional emails (invitations only)
• Apple / Google — in-app purchase processing
• Expo — push notification delivery

Ranch data is shared with other members of the same ranch based on the role-based access you configure (owner, manager, hand).

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data (ranches you own, animals, photos, notes, medical records) is permanently deleted. You can request account deletion by contacting us at the email below.

6. Children's Privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

7. Third-Party Advertising

We do not display third-party advertisements and do not share data with advertising networks.

8. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us. If you are in the EU/EEA, you have additional rights under GDPR including the right to data portability and the right to object to processing.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email.
